6 Hour – Women’s Team

Knobby Shop and MSR sponsored us this year! THANK YOU!

Julie Werney, Katy Werney and I teamed up to compete in the women’s class this year. There were 2 women’s teams competing this year and we were pumped to see what we could accomplish.

The club set up a 6 mile course starting at the GP track, going backwards into the bushes on the backside of the GP track and then spit us out back onto the GP track and then took us out to the single track and road sections!

The morning started off quite warm, approx. 70 degrees. Katy started the race off with the other team mate Diana hot on her tail on lap 1 (Katy went down and had to get out front again on lap 1). Man was it dusty! By lap 2 Katy had pulled away and just kept a fast race pave for about a hour 45 minutes. Then I met Katy in the impound area and went out for a good solid 5 laps approx. 20 mins each. I started to fade so I went in and Julie went out and kept us ahead! BY the time Julie came in were 1+ laps ahead. Katy went back out to finish us up to hour 6! I don’t know how she rode so many hours in the heat but she rocks! We ended up 2+ laps ahead in the end and felt great.

Overall we finished 34th out of 94 teams ~ always fun to beat the boys/men on the overall!! Hehe.

I am sure it was about 85-90 degrees out and 100 degrees in our helmet! But we had a great time as always!

You can check out the photo’s and video’s on Facebook: “friend” Knobby Shop and they have them up.
